Hi Jon,
I am unaware, personally, how this can be achieved via CCA or the SPA525G GUI.
SPA525G, with firmware 7.4.3 installed on the unit, I would have to ask someone to press the following key combination, settings key, press 9 and then press 2.
Which wasn't what you wanted to hear.

So CCA has a Topology View. In it, all the phones are shown. You can highlight the phone, then 'right mouse click' it and the reboot selection can be seet (or reset, I forgot which it was). But that will reset the SPA5xxx phone remotely.
The UC500 has a VPN server. You can VPN (remotely) into the UC500 system with CCA and do this. So this may solve the business requirement.

I believe you are pointing here to 'reboot' the phone the TS wants to reset all defaults to the phone so he can start over (i have seen a few times that the phones looses their mind and start behaving weird, especially when changing the configuration a lot)
anyway if you are pointing to reset to configuration defaults, how can we achieve this using the provisioning system or something else?

Hi
I'm afraid that there's no way to factory reset a SPA5xxG phone remotely...
Thanks!

Van,
you are right about reboot. Sorry. But I just had a light go on.
The phone itself has a Setup button. press that and scroll all the way down to menu #7 which says Factory Reset
maybe this was there all the while for us to use.....

Thanks for the useful feedback - what I am trying to acheive is apparently not possible without physically being in front of the phone to press the necessary buttons to return to factory default. This would be a great feature - especially if you are trying to move toward a zero-touch installation as we are. thanks.

You can create a baseline by manually setting the phone to factory default. You can then get the XML by using:
http://myPhoneIpAddress/admin/spacfg.xml
You can then use this default configuration file and use the following Provisioning URL to upload the baseline XML to a web server, then use the following url to resync your phone:
http://myPhoneIpAddress/admin/resync?http://myHostedWebServer/spaconfig.xml
myPhoneIpAddress = You phone you wish to reset
myHostedWebServer = A web server that the phone can access.
spaconfig.xml = The baseline xml file from a factory reset phone. This will be the XML you upload to a web server your phone has access to.
