Hi

There heaps of stuff on the internet on getting a avaya to 'talk' to a cisco.  Found lots at the avaya site, here's one example below.

https://devconnect.avaya.com/public/download/interop/ACM-CME-SIP.pdf

In terms of Microsoft OCS with CME version 8, there is a CTI interface to allow microsoft OCS integration, see the link below, but read the revelant section of the following  document carefully.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmecti.html

Also if you wish to dig deeper into the partner community on this question, why not pose the question on netpro to see what the partner community has already done to achieve this integration.  Here is one hit from www.cisco.com/go/netpro  that looks relevant to your question;

mr stefano

I have asked this question to PDS assistant durning chat webex session:

"however we do not support third party appliances" that is the point of view of PDS assistant...

Thank you for your feedback.   They have the authoritative answer.

If you want to go with a smart cisco design, you can get more help from Cisco :-))))

Sorry for the misdirection.

Cisco provides a feature set of the Cisco IOS called Unified Border Element (CUBE for short) that is designed to accomplish exaclty what you are asking to do.

CUBE provides protocol internetworking for IP-to-IP voice and video connections.

CUBE is a feature available on most current routers.

The router you use depends strictly on your configuration (IE, if you are going to be doing media flow-through or media flow-around and whether or not transcoding is going to be required).

Here is a link that describes CUBE in more detail.

http://cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps5640/index.html

Here is a document that describes using CUBE to perform SIP internetworking between OCS Mediation Server and Cisco Unified Communications Manager. Not exactly the same as what you're asking, but similar enough for illustration purposes.

Hope this helps!
