Hi
I am also facing the issue of uploading the assests to the DMM 5.1 sever from LAN workstations/laptop However if i connect the same laptop directly to the back of DMM server via GigEthernet then it works fine. the client has the managed network provided by service provider and cant troubleshoot in the LAN but other applications and file servers in the same segment are working fine.
the DMM version is 5.1
the assets i am uploading is .swf files
i am uploading to DMM 5.1 server itself
i am using IE 7 (7.0.5730.11)
Can anybody come accross similar problem and known resolution???

shaishav parikh,
I believe you answered your own question.
From what you describe, It appears the service
provider is blocking ports or is using a firewall or
access lists to restrict certain traffic.
When you place the device directly attached to the
the same box it works. Other applications work
probably because those required ports are allowed.
Run a simple test. Add a URL to the media library.
If the Media assets is added successfully you narrowed
your issue to the Uploading which is probably blocked.
Capturing a Wireshark trace at the port of the DMM should
confirm.
Cheers
T.
