RPS2300 with 2 switches 3750 and one 2951

hi i've been trying to set up the Rps 2300 with two switches 3750 and one router 2851, but i did not succed.

My steps:

shutdown the devices (disconnecting the main power supply).

Connect the rps cable to each device

Power on the RPS

Power on the devices connecting the power supply ac cord.

When all de devices were up I disconnected one switch and the rps did not supply power, so the switch powered off.

The only way to provide power was selecting one port as active and the others as standby.

I think i did not follow all the steps correctly.

could anyone tell the correct steps to deploy this device correctly?

Last thing: when I ocnnected the redundant power supply to the 2851 i started to hear an strange soung from this device. Keeping in mind that this 2851 is the main device i would like to know if this is a normal behavior? This sound stopped when we disconnect any cable.

Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, thanks for your response.

At this moment it's impossible to send you any command output.

I'd just like to know wich are the correct steps to connect all devices to the RPS230 to work properly.

And about the sound on the 2851, i´d like to know if that sound is normal.

Hi uosambela,

No worries. I just wanted to see if the switch has registered with the RPS.

When you connect the switch to the RPS the RPS should be in standby mode for the switch to register Once the switches are connected then make the RPS active.

I dont have an RPS in front of me but you might have to disconnect all switches, put the rps in standby mode by pressing the Standby/Active button to put the RPS 2300 in standby mode, connect the switches and again press the Standby/Active button to put the RPS 2300 in active mode.

Issue "show env all" for output to see if the switch as registered with the RPS and test again.

If I understand that's what i have to do:

-Put all the ports of the rps in standby mode.

-Connect the rps to each device

-Once connected, put the rps in active mode.

-After this, with the sh env all command i will see if the switches and the 2851 are registered with the rps.

The output of the command:

I suppose where it says "standby" it must say active (with the rps name , serial, and port), isn't it?
