Hello Everybody,

I have a question and i hope you can help me. At work whe use PRTG to monitor routers and switches trough snmp this works great. For routers at custumers locations whe use snmp version 3 and prtg gets the info from the router and that work to.

At a customers site whe also want to monitor a switch for bandwith ussage on each port and i cant get this to work. PRTG needs an ip adres but i cant reach the switch from my noc server. I can manage it by login into the router and ssh to it. Is there any way to set this up?

Thanks in advance excuse my bad english i am dutch

The cost-free option is obviously opening up the SNMP access + routing from your NOC to the customer's switch.

But if someone is willing to pay for the working-around of the current setup, this SNMP proxy might work for you:

http://www.snmp.com/protocol/proxyinfo.shtml#secure

I have no idea if the proxy would do less than SNMPv3 though, if your PRTG setup doesn't do v3.
