Solved: Difference between 3550 and 3750

Hi all, I am interested in purchasing a couple of 3550 switches for my home lab, however, I was just wanting to know what the difference between them and the 3750's?

Also, do the 3550's support NBAR?

Hi,

3750s are stackable but 3550s are not.

3750s have higher backplane speed then 3550s

3550s are end-of-life

3750s are more expensive

Overall, for lab use 3550s are more economical then 3560s and 3750s

The 3750 does not support NAT or NBAR. Of the catalyst switches only the 6500 supports NAT.

The 3750 is simply a more recent switch with greater thoughput although the features are not identical. For a lab the 3550 switches would be fine as you can run most of what you would need to do in a lab. Have a look at the 2 datasheets if you haven't already seen them -
