One of our customers needs us to busy out there PRI's while they install voice firewalls. There running CUCM 4.1 and the gateways are all MGCP. I found the document below and I have a couple questions about the gateway reboot in step 6. Can I do this reboot ahead of time to get ready and is it safe to leave the settings after they do there install or should I change it back?
I don't think you need to reboot the physical gateway. You simply need to enable status polling on the MGCP endpoint (in CUCM configuration mode) and do a reset on the gateway from CUCM. No reboot should be necessary.
