Dear All,

I would like to ask you about some command that enable snmp on ASA 5505.

snmp-server community public

snmp-server enable traps

snmp-server host inside 192.168.0.1

snmp-server host outside 203.10.10.1

my question is:

snmp-server host outside 203.10.10.1 so, i want to change ip to hostname but it not allow.

So how can i change to hostname bece i don't want to set public ip add.

Best Regards

rechard

You have to configure the hostname using the "name" command prior to using the hostname in the snmp command.

Example:

name 203.10.10.1 snmp-outside

snmp-server host outside snmp-outside

Please rate and mark all answered questions. Thanks

Dear halijenn,

Thanks you for your command!!!

So my HQ they use DHCP(Public ip address) that why i would like to set domian name to point to my HQ.

Example:  snmp-server host outside abc.net

then it don't care about the public ip address i just to care about domain name only.

is it possible ?

Best Regards,

Rechard

Unfortunately that is not supported.
