Hey guys,

I have a customer that is one step away from purchasing several UC540s with ESW switches but are wondering specifically if these items are FIPS 140 compliant.  Can anybody speak to this?

thanks,

Seth

Dear Sir;

These products have not been officially certified for FIPS-140 compliance. Traditionally all IOS based products are set as FIPS-140 level 2 compliance. As the ESW provides access via username and password, they could be considered as FIPS-140 Level 2, although no formal compliance either.

If you require formal FIPS-140 compliance, I suggest you go for UCME on ISRs 2800 and 3800 series. I personally don't know which of the Catalyst switches model provide compliancy, but sure there are many.

Regards
Alberto
