Hi all,

I am hoping to implement such installation. Since all phones are to use dialplans in CCM 7.x, can the faxes uses dialplans in VG224 in the form of dial-peers? Can this be done? If so, please advise.

Cisco2821 communicates with CCM 7.x using MGCP protocol

VG224 communicates with CCM 7.x using H323 protocol.

Best regards,

Lawrence Chew

Hi

Yes, it's perfectly possible. Each device only communicates with CCM for signaling, so you can run as much of a mix of H.323, SCCP, MGCP, SIP as you like.

It's more common however to run MGCP (for simplicity) or SCCP (for features) on the VG224.

Hi Aaron,

Probably it is easier to configure with MGCP/SCCP. But I have known of some implemetors which prefer to do it in H323 because of easier and simplicity of troubleshooting.

Can you provide the link to setup in VG224 interoperate with CCM 7.x using H323 setup? This will be a great helps.

Hi

It's an IOS gateway; so anyone who has configured H.323 on a Cisco device for CallManager before should be right at home.

There's a basic example in the config guide : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/vg224/software/configuration/guide/scgappa.html
