Hi,
I need to test the performance of my newly deploy ASA 5510 IPSec Tunnel network using the multicast traffic. Anyone body suggest me how to do generate the huge multicast traffic in order toe see the traffic / performance of the tunnel ?
Thx.

Just pure ipsec tunnel does not support multicast traffic.
You would need to configure GRE over IPSec tunnel to pass through multicast traffic, and GRE tunnel is not supported on ASA, hence, the GRE needs to be configured on router behind the ASA, and ipsec can either be terminated on the router or the ASA.

Hi halijenn,
Thx for your reply. I believe unicast traffic able to pass though the IPSec Tunnel . Am I right to say that? And is there anyway to generate a lot of unicast / multicast traffic from one end to another end?

Hi,
Depending on the OS of your end workstations, you could use iperf in either TCP or UDP mode. (http://www.noc.ucf.edu/Tools/Iperf/default.htm)
A bi-directional UDP test will most likely generate the highest unicast load.
