Hi,

UC520 is not letting another caller to be added to an existing conference call, when I try to add another person and hit conference it disconnects one of the callers from ongoing conference call. I have a 64 channel DSP installed.

thanks

Hi Hasrat,

The octo-line config won't come into play here

This config setting;

max-conferences 8 gain -6

relates to the number of simultaneous Conferences not the number of

participants;

look for;

max-conference participants

Have a look at this excellent doc from Tony @ Cisco;

https://www.myciscocommunity.com/docs/DOC-1486

Cheers!

Hi Hasrat,

A 3-party Conference is the default on the uc520

UC 500 DSP: Conference and Transcoding Capabilities/Limitations

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9744

Software Conference: Default conference option for UC500. Software conferencing enables 3-party ad-hoc conferencing capabilities and is enabled by default for a maximum of 8 conferences (8x3).

Cheers!

Rob

Hi Rob,

Thank you for the reply, do I need to add octo-line to ephone-dn, right now they are configured as dual-line ?

this is what I see under telephony-service regarding conference:

sdspfarm tag 1 conference
max-conferences 8 gain -6

Hi Rob,

excellent document, followed it and I am seeing this:

uc520(config-dspfarm-profile)#maximum sessions ?
<1-2>  Number of sessions assigned to this profile

it is not allowing me to add more than 2 sessions.

thanks

Hi Rob,

I did not apply ephone-dn for ad-hoc, once I added them it is working.

thanks for the document.

Hi Hasrat,

Don't forget that each DSP is related to a Conf profile as shown below. Your profile must be set up in mixed mode. Your original question referenced the number of participants not the number of sessions:)

voice-card X Replace X with slot number where the DSPs reside
dsp services dspfarm Enable dspfarm services
!
sccp local FastEthernet0/0 Specify local SCCP interface
sccp ccm 192.168.10.1 identifier 100 version 4.0 Configure IP address of call-agent to register sccp/use version 4.0
sccp Enable SCCP
!
sccp ccm group 1 Define SCCP group
associate ccm 100 priority 1 Associate sccp identifier with ccm group
associate profile 1 register confprof1 Configure sccp profile name
!
voice class custom-cptone jointone Optional – configure join tone
dualtone conference
frequency 600 900
cadence 300 150 300 100 300 50
!
voice class custom-cptone leavetone Optional – configure leave tone
dualtone conference
frequency 400 800
cadence 400 50 200 50 200 50
!
dspfarm profile 1 conference Configure dspfarm conference parameters
codec g711ulaw Configure codecs that are allowed to participate – by default all codecs are supported
codec g729r8 Configure codecs that are allowed to participate – by default all codecs are supported
conference-join custom-cptone jointone Specify jointone - optional
conference-leave custom-cptone leavetone Specify leavetone - optional
maximum conference-participants 8 Configure max conference participants per conference
maximum sessions 8 Configure maximum number of conferences
associate application SCCP Activate SCCP application
no shut Enable dspfarm profile

Each DSP can support a maximum of 16 G.711/G.729A/G.729 participants (mixed-mode), so this translates to:

• 2 conferences of 8 participants each

Cheers!

Rob

Hi Rob,

This is the config related to conference, it is still not working:

sccp
!
sccp ccm group 1
associate ccm 1 priority 1
associate profile 1 register confprof1
!
dspfarm profile 1 conference
codec g711ulaw
maximum conference-participants 8
maximum sessions 8
associate application SCCP
!
telephony-service
sdspfarm units 1
sdspfarm tag 1 confprof1
conference hardware
max-conferences 8 gain -6
!

thanks
