Blade memory tests

Answered Question
Apr 15th, 2010

I noticed that the new 1.2 firmware update added a memory test to evey blade boot up. Is there a way to bypass this test? It takes forever to boot a blade with 96GB+ of RAM.

I have this problem too.

How long is forever? I've been trying to boot a blade with 384 GB of ram. It looks like it's running, at least the KVM is updating the ...'s, but it's taking a really really long time. I'd say how long, but it hasn't booted yet.

In my case it was no more than 5 miniutes on a full width blade with 96 GB RAM.

Thanks Jeremy. At the time I posted I was 3 hours into a memory check, fast forward 24+ hours later and I'm still looking at the same screen. Sounds like tac time.

I agree that should be the first step, unfortunately I'm remote to the blade and don't have remote hands. Quite a conundrum.

Have this been solved or addressed ?

Servers with big amount of RAM takes a very long time to boot.
