I want to do dot1q tagging and vlan trunking on this router. Is it possible?
04-15-2010 01:20 PM
Yes.
04-15-2010 01:21 PM
Why does the Cisco Feature Navigator say my model can do it?
04-15-2010 01:22 PM
Frank
According to Feature Navigator IP Base on the 2800 ISR routers should support 802.1q trunking so you should be fine. If you want to make sure then try this -
int gi0/1.10
encapsulation dot1q 10
ip address x.x.x.x
if you can enter the above config you are good to go.
Feature Navigator is the tool to use for these sort of queries -

We can help you if you help us. Which bit is an unrecognized command ie. when you try and create the subinterface, when you try and add the encapsulation etc..

You could open a tac case, as even on IPbase this is supposed to work.
Might as well plan an upgrade.
