Hi Jagdev,

Network Load Balancing Services (NLBS) is a proprietary Microsoft implementation of clustering and load balancing that is intended to provide high availability and high reliability, as well as high scalability. NLBS is intended for applications with relatively small data sets that rarely change (one example would be web pages), and do not have long-running-in-memory states. These types of applications are called stateless applications, and typically include Web, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and virtual private networking (VPN) servers.

The Cisco IOS® Server Load Balancing (SLB) feature is a Cisco IOS-based solution that provides server load balancing. This feature allows you to define a virtual server that represents a cluster of real servers, known as a server farm. When a client initiates a connection to the virtual server, the IOS SLB load balances the connection to a chosen real server, depending on the configured load-balance algorithm or predictor.

Hi Ganesh,

Thanks for your response, But if you look below document for Microsoft NLB at Cisco gives a similar impression of SLB

NLB

SLB

Please suggest the difference, As in both URL it creates a VIP
