Hello,

We currently have a B250 blade populated with 192GB of 4GB DIMMS. We need to reduce this down to 144GB using the 4GB DIMMS. How should I best populate the banks/channels in this blade?

Should i simply remove DIMMS C7, C6, B7, B6, A7, A6 from BANK 1 and F7, F6, E7, E6, D7, D6 from BANK 2 ??

Thanks!

With three channels per socket and both  sockets populated, this equates to a maximum amount of memory of 384 GB  using industry-standard DDR3 8-GB DIMMs. Each DDR3 channel is buffered  and expanded to four DDR3 subchannels. Instead of directly connecting  one DDR3 channel to the memory controller, four DDR3 subchannels are  connected to the memory controller indirectly. Each DDR3 subchannel can  support two single-, dual-, or quad-rank DDR3 RDIMMs The extended memory  is transparent to software.

Good luck
