FXO caller-id

I'm setting up CME4.1 with a vic-2fxs and vic-2fxo.

I can get both working with IP and analogue phones.

My issue is that whenever I get a call from the PSTN over FXO to an analogue phone, there is no caller-id - the phone just says 'Call'. I've read the cisco docs which advise that you need 'caller-id enable' on both the FXO and FXS port.

I can get this command onto the FXS port which I'm guessing will give my caller-id out, but I cant get the command onto the FXO port which I assume is the one that will pick up the caller-id siganl for the incomming PSTN call.

Here is my configuration for the voice ports:

voice-port 1/0/0
supervisory disconnect dualtone mid-call
cptone GB
timeouts call-disconnect 5
timeouts wait-release 5
connection plar 260492
!
voice-port 1/0/1
!
voice-port 1/1/0
caller-id enable
!
voice-port 1/1/1

destination-pattern 9T
port 1/0/0

destination-pattern 260492
port 1/1/0

Hi

Do you mean you don't have any 'caller-id' commands available under your FXOs? Even if you type 'caller?'

Hi Aaron

Yes, thats correct, if I do "caller ?" under my FXO then I just get an unregonised command response.

I'm running the Advanced Enterprise Services IOS version 12.4(11)XJ4 with CME 4.1.0.1, so its not a really old IOS.

P.S. Sorry to the web-admin - just noticed that I've posted this under Video over IP and not Voice over IP.

Hello Robert,

The command that you are looking for is "caller-id enable" under the voice-port configuration and it should available in the IOS that you are currently using

Please check this link for further information

Thanks Walter, but the problem is that none of the caller-id comands under the FXO port are recognised.

I can get the 'caller-id enable' command for the FXS port but not the FXO port.

Robert,

Do you have the output of the "show diag", I would like to see the model of your FXO card.

Here is the output of my 'show diag' for the vocie ports......
