hi all, anyone can tell me which is the maximum number of RSTP instance managed by a switch?

I'm going to assume it depends on what kind of switch you're talking about. Different switches have different capabilities.
In the case of a Cisco Catalyst 3560 switch: Up to 1024 VLANs and up to 128 spanning-tree instances per switch are supported.

Of course, all I did was a google search for "Catalyst 3560 spanning-tree instances" and the first link was the product Data Sheet for the 3560.
You can substitute the 3560 for whatever switch you're wondering about.

It's usually contained with the data sheet. Start here -
then select the switch you are interested in, scroll down the page and near the bottom will be a link for the data sheet.
