I have two offices connected to each other with cisco routers at each location. I have a weather sensor at one site and they want the display at the other. The sensor normally connects to the display via a basic rs-232 asynchronous dce/dte 8N1 9600 baud connection. Can I use the AUX ports or maybe hwic-t1s at each router and bridge the ports together to extend the rs-232 connection over the network?

You use the AUX port for this. There is also virtual COM software for the PC so not needing the physicial setup on other site.

Thank you for your response.
Things like reverse telnet and COM port redirector software won't work because the remote display we are using is a piece of standalone hardware not a PC.

Dear Paolo!
Do you know software which can connect Cisco ISR and provide a link between virtual COM port and Cisco AUX?
