Error on Cisco6509-E VSL

Hi ,

We are keep getting the following error on our Cisco 6509-E VSL pair.We have replaced SUP720 and also few moudles, but the error is still appering once or  twice a day. We do have outage on our network due to high cpu on VSL pair.

Any idea?

1. %EARL_L2_ASIC-4-DBUS_HDR_ERR: EARL L2 ASIC #[dec]: Dbus Hdr. Error occurred. Ctrl1 [hex]

This message indicates that the EARL L2 ASIC detected an invalid header in the DBUS. This error is due to hardware that has failed, a misconfiguration of the module software, or invalid packets that were dropped because of an OIR operation.

Recommended Action: Copy the message exactly as it appears on the console or in the system log. Research and attempt to resolve the issue using the tools and utilities provided at http://www.cisco.com/tac. With some messages, these tools and utilities will supply clarifying information. Search for resolved software issues using the Bug Toolkit at http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs. If you still require assistance, open a case with the Technical Assistance Center via the Internet at http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/front.x/case_tools/caseOpen.pl, or contact your Cisco technical support representative and provide the representative with the information you have gathered. Attach the following information to your case in nonzipped, plain-text (.txt) format: the output of the show logging and show tech-support commands and your pertinent troubleshooting logs.

What IOS is running on the VSS pair?

Before starting to replace the chassis it could be wise to look for possible bugs in the IOS image that is running.
