Hello guys,

I have a AP AIR-AP1242G-A-k9, It seems that a voltage variation damaged it, noww I´m tring to enter to the GUI(using a straight cable), but ethernet´s led is off, it seems that the slot rj-45 is damaged cause it doesnt turn green on, Status LED is steady green and checking the reference guide I didn´t find help. How can I check if the hardware of the AP is ok?? what is the meaning of ethernet off, radio off and status steady green?? why i connect the utp cable from network (with dynamic dhcp service running (tested)) to the AP the ethernet led doesn´t turn on?? these symtoms mean the AP is damaged??

Note: these are some things that I did:

Confurate a static ip address in the ethernet interface and connect it to the PC (pc inside the same segment of network)

Reset to default settings using MODE button and erasasing the startup config file from Console

check the Reference guides.

Thank you 4 your attention!

Jerry

do you know any command(s) to test the Hardware, specially the ethernet port??

This is the part that I don´t like :

ERROR: timeout waiting for auto-negotiation to complete

ERROR: fail to bring ethernet link up

The system has been encountered an error initializing ethernet port.
You may need to check hardware. The system is ignoring the error and continuing boot.

I conclude that I have to make valid the warranty, Im correct??

You can upgrade the firmware via console using XModem.
