UC500 phone line keeps ringing busy even though the line is not in use.

All,

I appreciate any help on this issue. I call into the UC500 and I am able to access my AA. I am then transferred to a extension and have my conversation and hangup. I attempt to call back into the UC500 again and now the phone line is ringing busy. It continues to ring busy for a long time before I can have a successful connection. I am not sure if UC500 is not properly dropping the phone call or if something else is going on. Below is my voice-port config.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Luke,

Can i confirm with you the following:

  1. Are all FXO ports in use? For instance do you have 4 analogue lines from your carrier running into the system?
    If so are they doing Hunting of the lines at the exchange?
  2. Have you done any debugging on the system at all?
    If not can you do the following please:
    * ROUTER# debug vpm signal
    *ROUTER# term mon
    #Capture all the information from a test call and paste it into a txt file, and keep that one separate from the other debugs
  3. Have you checked to see if the port is locked up?
    If not you can do the following
    *ROUTER# sh voice call sum (I think that is the command, I have had a memory blank/brain freeze
    )
    *ROUTER# term mon
    #Capture the information on the screen and put that into a txt file

Once you have got all the information can you post the txt files up so we can look at them, I would like to see what the VPM signal is going when a call teardown is requested, i hate analogue lines as they are well known for being pig headed and not wanting to play ball.

Also can you apply the following to your configuration please:

voice-port 0/1/0

trunk-group ALL_FXO 64

supervisory disconnect dualtone mid-call
compand-type a-law (Or ulaw )
cptone AU (Put your contry code in there)
timeouts call-disconnect 4
timeouts wait-release 4
connection plar opx immediate 298
impedance complex1
bearer-cap Speech
caller-id enable

The above code may assist with your issue and it may even resolve it. Just make sure you apply this to all your FXO voice ports, and also make sure you make those changes that are highlighted in bold.

I hope you can resolve the problem  :)

Cheers,

David.
