WAAS CIFS/SMB users beware MS KB980232

Unanswered Question

KB980232 is causing a number of problems for people using wan accelerators, and also non MS CIFS shares (eg. samba, netapp).

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS10-020 - Critical
Vulnerabilities in SMB Client Could Allow Remote Code Execution (980232)

We have seen the problems first hand and I would recommend against this patch if accelerating CIFS connections.
