7609 to 3550 connectivity

Dear all,

i m trying to connect 7609 Router to 3550 Sitch at one of thier fastethernet

on 7609 , interface been configured with ip 10.99.16.2 /29,
but couldnt configure ip on 3550 side , what is to be done on switch end

also permitted the switch network which is 10.97.112.0 in ospf ,bgp routemap ACL on 7609

Hi anandkumar,

Not clear what you are trying to do but

If you want to assign on IP to the port without using a vlan (a layer 3 routed port) then you need to enter no switchport under interface configuration command and than assign an IP to it.
