We have Unified Communications 8.0. Is there a way to have it automatically dial 9 when hitting under the directory - auto dialing a missed or received call. We would also like the caller ID on the phones to correctly display the incoming phone number, i.e. not showing the "9" at the beiginning of each incoming phone number.

One option that I have experimented with, although I haven't put it in production, is prepending a pound sign to the incoming CallerID. Because it is not a number, it is easy to interpret the digits correctly. You just need to setup route plans that allow # as a PSTN access digit. This will work with any version of CUCM, I beleive. I don't know if there is a specific solution for this in CUCM 8.0.

You may configure translation pattern to prepend 9.
CUCM > Call Routing > Translation Pattern.
