Hi all,

If I have wireless ip phone 7921 connected to access point.Access point is controlled by wireless access controller.

How RTP traffic moves?

wireless ip phone----->access point----->access controller----->access point------>wireless ip phone

or

wireless ip phone----->access point----->wireless ip phone

Any ideas?

BR,

Ahmed Kamal

Assuming the AP's are in local mode the traffic would go wireless ip phone----->access point----->access  controller----->access point------>wireless ip phone

If they phones are in H-REAP mode and the WLAN is locally switched then it would be wireless ip phone----->access point----->wireless ip phone

Can you explain this please

"

BR,

Ahmed

To Dans point,

If you use HREAP local switching, your traffic generated on the HREAP ap dumps off on the ethernet and stays local to the office. Only control frames go across to the WLC. Make sense?
