How do you upgrade the IOS on
2960 switch, 2821 router and ASA5510 firewall. Are the procedures the same? Do you need a SMART Net contract on the devices to upgrade the IOS? The switch needs SSH to be configured, thus from the base IOS on the switch, how do I find the switch IOS that has SSH capabilities.
Thanks..

Hi,
Yes, you need a Smart Net contrat to be able to download the IOS. If you need SSH than look for an IOS that has k9 in the name
see example below:

Said,
The procedure is pretty much the same for switches and routes. As for the ASA, you can use cli or ASDM to upgrade the IOS.

Reza,
Is the procedure the same for the router, switch and ASA firewall? Download the IOS to TFTP server on the network and then copy the IOS to the device?
On the router > Download the file to a TFTP server on the network > copy TFTP flash ?
Thanks.
