Migrating to 8.3(1) question

Hi,

I have an ASA5550 in production and I installed 8.3(1) to flash.
I'm just waiting to reload and instruct it to boot with 8.3(1)

There's multiple NAT configuration (static, policy, dynamic NAT/PAT)
ACLs referring the public IP (instead than the real IP)
Object-groups
It's a long configuration.....

My question is:
Is my understanding that I don't need to make any configuration changes (NAT and ACLs)?
The ASA will automatically convert all the commands to the new syntax?
Or I'm going to screw everything up?

Federico.

The ASA will migrate all those. So it should be transparent.

It will also keep a copy of the 8.2 config that will be named something like asa8.2.2....sav. So if need to downgrade use the downgrade command while at 8.3 and have it boot 8.2 with the .sav config.

I believe it will go smoothly though.

I hope it helps.

Don't shoot the pianist if you discover some weird corner case defect.

The migration will happen automatically.
