Unanswered Question

Hi all

I am not that familiar with SAN's etc, but can anyone tell me if it is normal, or OK, to have a port in more than 2 zones ? and why would you need to do it?

cheers

Carl

I have this problem too.

it's normal, you may have an array port that is shared between multiple hosts so you will see that port in multiple zone, or you have a host that is zoned to multiple storage arrays/ tape libraries. Google for "Single initiator zoning" as well as "zoning best practices"
