Do we need to get the new license if we upgrade from 6.1(4)su1a to 7.1(3) for CUCM? please advise. thanks

Hi

Yes, you need a version upgrade license. You would get this if you order an purchased upgrade, or if you order a UCSS upgrade online (if you are entitled).

You would get the license in the form of a PAK key supplied with your media.

You can order your upgrade if you are current on support by using the Product Upgrade Tool (PUT) via Cisco.com. Once you receive your order, it will have a PAK (Product Authorization Key). You then use this PAK to register with Cisco to obtain your upgrade license for 7x.
