Register Cisco ip phone 9900 and Cisco ip phone spa525g small bisness on Cisco Unified Communication Manager Express 8.0

Hi

Did you ever try to register this phones on CUCME 8.0?

I have CUCME 8.0 on the 2800 series router. I have successfully registered ip phone 7960 through SCCP and Linphone sip soft phone through voice register configuration mode. You can review the configuration below.  I do not see this models at the   list of supported models.  http://cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/vcallcon/ps4625/data_sheet_c78-567246.html

Thanks for help

Sincerely yours

Sergey Bondarenko

Hi Sergey,

The 500 series IP Phones are only supported with the Small Business UC500 (520,540,560). They are not supported on CME.

This section below does not mention the 525G (As it is an older doc) but the restrictions do carry across to all 500 series models;

The Cisco Unified IP Phones 521G, 524G, 521SG, and 524SG address the communication needs of any Cisco Smart Business Communications System (SBCS) implementation. These phones are designed to work ***solely*** with the Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series for Small Business.

This is an excellent thread about the 9900 Series from the Cisco BU. It shows support for the 9900 series with CME later in 2010;

For the 9900 phone, you should have no major problem using another type for config purposes.

But, I have never tried myself.
