Hi,
Switch port is configured as follows
mls qos
int fast eth 0/2
switchport mode access
mls qos trust device cisco-phone
spanning-tree portfast
Default Cisco IP phone marks CoS = 5 decimal and DSCP = 46 Decimal.
CoS can be used only on trunk frames. So with the above mentioned configuration of interface as access and portfast. If the interface receives a trunk frame from IP phone with the VLAN-ID and CoS marking of 5. How does the switch will respond?
Does the switch ignoes the VLAN tag and CoS marking in the 802.1 Q frame ( 802.1 P - marking).
Please share the experience.
Thanks

The switch will trust the QoS value from the phone and internally perform a COS->DSCP map translation.
