How to broadcast 2 SSIDs on the same radio interface on the default VLAN?

Hi guys,

I am struggling on configuring two SSIDs on a single radio interface on default VLAN. It should be a very basic setup however I can't get it to work. I don't need any security on the SSIDs and I want them both broadcasted. My AP is AIR-AP1242AG-A-K9 with 12.4 firmware. Here is my current config:

dot11 ssid test2
   authentication open
!
dot11 ssid test1
   authentication open
   guest-mode
!

interface Dot11Radio0
no ip address
no ip route-cache
!
ssid test1
!
ssid test2

!

However the test2 is not broadcasted... I can't put "guest-mode" under ssid test2. I got this error: "Dot11Radio0: Guest-ssid already existing on ssid test1"

I was trying to use mbssid but it requires to use VLAN, which I don't need. However if it's a must that's fine as long as both SSIDs have to be on the same VLAN.

Can anybody please provide me a sample config? Thanks!

I have this problem too.

You're almost there.

dot11 ssid test2
authentication open
mbssid guest-mode
!
dot11 ssid test1
authentication open
mbssid guest-mode

Thank you for the reply! Actually I have tried the mbssid but it requires using vlans. Here is my config:

dot11 ssid test1
   authentication open
   mbssid guest-mode
!
dot11 ssid test2
   authentication open
   mbssid guest-mode

!

interface Dot11Radio0
no ip address
no ip route-cache
!
ssid test1
!
ssid test2
!
mbssid

!

However as soon as I "no shut" the dot0 interface I got this error:

*Mar  1 16:17:28.395: %DOT11-4-NO_MBSSID_VLAN: No VLANs configured in MBSSID mode. Dot11Radio0 not started

ap#sh ip int bri d0
Interface                  IP-Address      OK? Method Status                Protocol
Dot11Radio0                unassigned      YES unset  reset                 down

How do I configure the same vlan for both SSID? Thanks!

You cannot configure two SSID's on the same vlan or without vlans.

I just created vlan 1 as the native vlan but seems I can't assoicate two SSIDs on the same vlan... Here is the current config (some configs are omited)

dot11 ssid test1
   vlan 1
   authentication open
   mbssid guest-mode

!

dot11 ssid test2
   authentication open
   mbssid guest-mode

!

interface Dot11Radio0

!

ssid test1
!
ssid test2
!
mbssid
station-role root

!

interface Dot11Radio0.1
encapsulation dot1Q 1 native
bridge-group 1

!

interface FastEthernet0
no ip address
no ip route-cache

!

interface FastEthernet0.1
encapsulation dot1Q 1 native

bridge-group 1

As soon as I try to associate test2 with vlan 1 I got this error:

Warning: Vlan 1 already mapped to SSID test1. SSIDs with same vlan association cannot be attached to the same interface.
Dot11Radio0: VLAN 1 is already mapped to SSID test1, SSID to VLAN mapping should be unique on interface.

Please help, Thanks!
