CRS Flash Disk

Can we use XR12000 2GB Flash disk on CRS-1 8?.. We are upgrading our CRS from 3.6.1 to 3.8.2 and the new version requires 2GB flash but the CRS has only 1GB. In our GSR's (XR 12410) we have 2GB flash, can we use it for CRS? Even though the parts numbers are differen, but I'm not sure what's the difference?.. CRS can see the flash with no problems. Flash disk is a flsh disk!

Hi Ahmed

Are you swapping the flash disk in a production environment? i wont suggest to do this in a prod environment with live traffic being handled by the routers.

Hello Ahmed,

you should at least format again the flash disk on the CRS before using it

Be also aware that if you will have any trouble in the future on the CRS and if the part number is not recommended for use with it you will not be able to complain with Cisco about it
