Manual removal of Cisco VPN 5.0.07.0290 in Windows 7 64-bit

Hi,

I tried to install the latest 64-bit Cisco VPN client (5.0.07.0290) under Windows 7 yesterday. In the middle of installation, the machine blue screened; this has left me with an incomplete installation and, more importantly, no uninstall option. I cannot reinstall the client because the installer claims to see a previous installtion and throws error 28000 (need to uninstall previous version before proceding).

Are there instructions on how to manually remove the client from Win7 64-bit?  I have seen the existing manual removal instructions for 3.5+ under XP and 2000, but many of the steps are invalid under Win7.

Thanks

John.

You can try to uninstall the VPN client MSI using the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility at the link below.

That's perfect. The Microsoft Cleanup tool discovered the interrupted installation and performed the rollback. Thank you very much!

I'm having the same problem, installing 5.0.07 vpn client on win 7 32 bit. I get the 2800 error (it blue screened while installing first time round) and can't uninstall. I've removed registry entries using regedit and also ccleaner, but no joy.

The links above don't work and the MS Fixit app asked for the product string. Can anyone help?

This is pretty urgent!

I was having the same problem and was able to find the Windows installation Clean-up utility at the following link: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility-Download-18442.html

Ran software and it automatically rolled-back and uninstalled the corrupted installation.  I was now able to re-install the VPN client with no issues.

Thank you so much! I had the same problem and it had been spending hours trying to fix it! This helped!
