LMS 3.2 NetConfig Error CFG0008: URN_NOT_FOUND

Hello experts,

I have some problems with my LMS 3.2 sice some days.

Every time I want to go to NetConfig Jobs I get a error message.

I attatched a screenshot with the exact error message.

What I did:

- Restarting the Deamon

- Restarting the Server

- 1. Stop the Deamon

  2. deleted NMSROOT/databases/cmf/cmf.log

  3. do NMSROOT/objects/db/win32/dbsrv10 -f NMSROOT/databases/cmf/cmf.db

  4. Start the Deamon

All of these where unsuccessfully

Any other solutions???

I Just found this: https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3010836#3010836

"You will need to either reinitialize the CMF database (which means you will lose everything), or you will need to restore LMS from a known good backup."

So whats the best steps for this? Reinizialize the database and then make a restore of my backup or just make the restore of my Backup without reinitialize?

- Should I stop the Daemon before I start the restore?

- Can I do the restore for cmf only, or is it necessary to restore all databases

Can u give me the right syntax for doing this? My Backup is Version 379.

Thx

Patrick

Do you have LMS integrated with ACS?

Also, can you try disabling your virus scanning software prior to running the netconfig job?

Hello,

I just stopped the anti virus service, but the error message comes again as soon as I click on "NetConfig Jobs"

Yes, its integrated with ACS 4.1

Patrick

It looks like ACS isn't properly integrated with LMS. Please go through these steps again verifying the user setup in ACS and the system identity user as well:

ON CISCOWORKS

===============

* Step 1: Setup up a System Identity User

-Common Services > Server >Security >Multi-Server Trust Management >System
Identity Setup

* Step 2: Ensure that System Identity User is a local User with all the
roles

-Server >Security >Single-Server Management >Local User Setup

ON ACS

=======

* Step 3: Define a group for CW Admin Users in ACS

-Go to GROUP SETUP

-Rename an available Group to something suitable such as CWAdmins

-Edit Settings

-Sessions available to user = unlimited

* Step 4: Add the CW system identity user (and other Admin users in CW) to
ACS

-Go to USER SETUP

-Create Users for Ciscoworks including the System Identity User in ACS

-password

-Assign all these Admin users to the Group created in Step 3

* Step 5: Add a network device group with Ciscoworks as a Client

-Go to NETWORK CONFIGURATION

-Name

-IP address or range with wildcard masks

-key

-Authenticate using: TACACS+ (Cisco IOS)

-Submit+Restart

Note: (If NDG options are not visible, you can enable Network Device Groups
in ACS under INTERFACE CONFIGURATION > ADVANCED)

ON CISCOWORKS

===============

* Step 6: Change CW AAA Mode to ACS TYPE (and register CW applications with
ACS)

-Common Services > Server > Security > AAA Mode Setup

-Select ACS type

-Fill in IP address/Hostname of ACS server

-Fill in the ACS admin login information and the shared key

Note: "ACS admin login" must be a user with full admin rights to ACS (i.e.
one configured under Administration Control in ACS with ALL options checked)

-Put a check mark in "Register all installed applications with ACS" **

-Click on apply

-Restart CW Daemon Manager for above changes to take effect.

**WARNING: Make sure that AFTER the first successful registration to any
specific ACS server, you always keep this box UNCHECKED if switching between
ACS and non-ACS modes on LMS server.

Failure to do so will erase all custom roles (SUPERUSER) and you will need
to do Step 7-8 on ACS again.

ON ACS

=======

* Step 7: Add "SUPERUSER" role for each module of Ciscoworks in ACS

-Go to SHARED PROFILE COMPONENTS

-Select a CW module (such as Common Services)

-ADD

-Name it CWSuperUser or something similar

-Select everything under the available functionality for that module

--REPEAT above procedure for Ciscoview, RME, Campus, DFM and any other
Ciscoworks modules such as IPM, etc.

* Step 8: Assign the "SUPERUSER" role to the Admins Group (created in Step
3)

-Go to GROUP SETUP

-Edit Settings

- Select cwhp, rme, campus, dfm and any other CW components a select the
"SUPERUSER" role (created in step 7)

-Submit+Restart

IMPORTANT: Once ACS mode is enabled on Ciscoworks, ALL devices MUST be
added to the same ACS server as clients for them to be manageable in
Ciscoworks. While the devices must be known (i.e. configured as clients) in
the same ACS server, they do not have to use that ACS for their own AAA
configuration, nor do those devices need to be configured for AAA
themselves.

Hello,

it looks like it has nothing with acs integration to do.

I set the AAA Mode Setup to Non-ACS CiscoWorks Local and the error message comes again.

Bye,

Patrick

Hey experts,

any new Ideas?

Maybe someone could explain me how to reinitialize rme database or restore a backup of my old data.

Patrick

Hello,

what I have done:

1. stop the daemon

2. run CSCOpx\bin\perl CSCOpx\bin\restorebackup.pl -gen 373 -d E:\Backup

3. looks like the restore finished without errors ( cmd closed after  about 2hours of work, last input I have seen was rme 70 % )

4. lunch Cisco Works, but the error message appears again .......

Next :

5. stop the daemon

6. Try to reinitialize the rme database:

CSCOpx\bin>perl dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=rme dmprefix=Essentials

Getting this error code:

FATAL ERROR: e:\PROGRA~1\CSCOpx\databases\rme\orig\odbc.tmplorig does not exist,
or is not readable.
Verify that the DSN exists, before contacting a Cisco support engineer.

What should I do now? Need support.

Thx,

Patrick

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update, found the right syntax for reinitializing the rme database it´s:

CSCOpx\bin>perl dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=rmeng dmprefix=RME

After the reinitialize of the rme database the error appears again .........!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update

I finally deinstalled Cisco Works and then reinstalled it.

After this I restored a backup.

It work´s now =)
