The console speed on my 3750G-48-TS refuses to stay at 9600, it wants to default to 115200 for some reason. Even after doing:

conf t

line con 0

speed 9600

(open new hype term---9600-8-N-1)

end

wr m

it still default to 115200 what else can I do here?

You might want to check the setting of the configuration register and make sure that it is not specifying the higher speed. I have had the experience where a device would not keep the speed that I set under line con 0 and it turned out to be a setting in the configuration register.

I have done some research and found a suggestion that the speed can be set using the bootloader. Perhaps you might try this suggestion:

Go into the bootloader by power-cycling the switch and holding down the “Mode” button. Enter the command “set BAUD 9600″ Then type “reset” to reboot the switch.

Nice one Rick (+5).  Another command to the "set BAUD <#>" is the "unset BAUD".

At Rommon you may try:

switch:BAUD=9600
