I'm looking for some published numbers from Cisco on the recommended cRTP connection limits to set in relations to the cpu overhead.
I know Cisco recommends cRTP enabled on links 768kbps or below on IOS 12.0.x or lower but newer IOS can support more. I have yet to see a link exactly how much more is the recommended limit. I have seen in some cisco troubleshooting document not to exceed T1 speed with cRTP enabled.
I have spoken to fellow colleagues who believe in newer 3700 platforms, it can support up to 1000 calls with cRTP enabled (2000 rtp streams for both directions). I'm using Cisco 7200vxr and 3700 routers. Please advise!
