XML Code displaying on phone for Weather Application

I have a weather application that is working for the most part, but when it displays on the phone some of the charcters are not correct. Below is the ouput from the WEB BROWSER:

My issue is when it displays on the phone items such as the 68°F show up crazy. I have written this in perl and is is possible to send °; via xml to the phone?

I have this problem too.
