Monitoring High Usage

Hi,

I'm looking to monitor some high use switchports on a 3750G.  I'm looking for something that will send an alert should a port become around 90% utilized.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

One option would be CiscoWorks LMS.  For example, you can set DFM to generate a HighUtilization event and send an e-mail alert.  You can change the Utilization threshold under DFM > Configuration > Polling and Thresholds > Managing Thresholds.

There is also the Switch Port Report under Campus Manager Reports.  This will not generate an alert but you might still find it useful in some other way.

Many SNMP based reporting tools like PRTG, MRTG etc should e able to do what you are looking for. And these tools have free versions too.
