Need help to setup Cisco 871 for VPN

I have a cable modem and I need to install CISCO 871 behind the Cable Modem to make me access devices behind the Cable modem remotely.

How can I do that. I am a beginner to Cisco products. I know how to communicate using CLI and SDM.

Please help, if possible with an example of ip addresses would help.

You will need to make sure that your public IP address is static and can be configured on the router, so you may have to bridge the cable modem but that is something your ISP should be able to assist you with.

After that you will need to configure natting and routing appropriately. Check out the following links:

I found some old example but they should work, you did not specify if you were planning to use the vpn client or ssl so I gave two examples.
