Cisco 4506 and Opteman

We currently have a remote location that is running 3 T1s, Cisco 3845 router, and a Cisco 4506 switch. We are upgrading to AT&T opteman in the near future. Since our switch is a L3 switch that does routing. Can we bypass the router and let our L3 switch do the the routing ? Is this possible ?

Not familiar with opteman but basically if the presentation is ethernet then yes you can connect directly into the 4500 switch and not use the router. Be aware though that the 4500 does not support NAT and that the 3845 router will have a much more featured QOS feature set.

Also worth noting - If your Opteman link is not the same speed as your interface (ie, getting a 20Mb circuit on a 100Mb copper port) they will be policing to your cir at their ingress port, so you should be doing traffic shaping on your outgoing link.  For that you'll need to keep your router around

Hope this helps
