[RVS4000] DHCP scopes?

Answered Question
May 23rd, 2010

Is it possible to set up separate scopes on the RVS4000? i have another router on my network, but i'd like to have it forward DHCP requests to the RVS. the RVS would of course have to know how to assign IP addresses based ont he origin of the request..

see attachment for details..

RVS4000 allows you to create multiple VLANs, each of which will have a separate DHCP Scope.

i started fooling around with this and immediatly got stuck... what the heck is a vlan range?? i expected it to say something like "ip range"

, not "vlan id range"... apparently it can be quite large... what is it used for??

VLAN range is for creating multiple VLANs in one shot. You don't have it use it.
