Hi guys,
i got this error message: "There are no Encoders supporting Events" when I tried to add an event based on motion detection. Also the window status in the Motion Config tab is Inactive. I use VSMS/VSOM 6.2/4.2 and cisco 2520 IP Dome cameras. I couldn't find anything related to this issue.
Everything is working fine unless this thing.
Thanks a lot.

Have you checked the enable motion detection box within your feedconfig?
Without configuring at least one feed for motion detection you can't configure motion detection based events...

yes, it's already configured (it is mandatory). otherwise you can't configure motion detection at all.
Thanks.

I have also updated the system to VSMS/VSOM 6.2.1/4.2.1 but still got the same error.
Thanks.

can you update at least one cam to the newest firmware 2.1.4 and reintegrate it into vsom (after deleting it)... your firmware is from release rate: 28/Aug/2009
just a try, i dont't know if it helps

i tried with 2.1.4 (with both 6.2.0/4.2.0 and 6.2.1/4.2.1) and it failed again. it's a strange thing.
Thanks.

I only use 4500 series cams so i only can guess...
Are there differences if you configure a mpeg4 feed for motiondetection or a mjpeg feed ?

no, the result is the same (.. no encoders ..).
Thanks.

What about the installed driver package within the management console?
I use dp_cisco 1.5-06....

Problem was solved by adding the camera as a normal 2500/W model (not dome).
