Cisco 3845 with increasing input errors, CRC and overrun

I have a 3845 that has increasing input errors, CRC and overrun on its g0/0 interface.  The 3845 is connected to a WS-C3750G-48PS.  The 3845's g0/0 is connected to the 3750's g2/0/1.  However, 3750's g2/0/1 has no input errors, CRC, or overrun.  Could this be an IOS bug?

Troubleshooting steps:

1.  restarted 3845 (still increasing)

2.  replaced cable between 3845 and 3750 (still increasing)

3.  moved connection from 3750's g2/0/1 to a new switchport (g2/0/7) - there were 0's across the board, but after a couple of hours, input errors, CRC, and overrun started to accrue again.

Hello Pingmenow,

be aware that a C3845 is not capable to run a GE at wire speed so you can expect ignored or overrun when connected to a multilayer switch

may you post a sh int gi0/0 to see these counters and what is the ratio of input errors in comparison to correctly received packets (= input packets)

is the C3750 g2/0/1 a L2 interface for example a L2 trunk or is it a routed port?

(this is to understand what QoS features could be used on it)

Hope to help

Giuseppe
