My java version on my client is

C:\>java -version
java version "1.6.0_19"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_19-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 16.2-b04, mixed mode, sharing)

There was an asdm-508.bin also which was removed but it was not set as the image to use. I get the error below when trying to access it local or from outside

ASDM version 6.2.5 does not support ASA version 7.1.2.

Seems like after the power, the boot system is set to ASA version 7.1.2.

Since you have ASA 8.2.2.bin in the flash, I am sure that you were running that version before.

Please upgrade the ASA back to 8.2.2:

1) run "sh run boot",

2) configure the boot system for asa822-k8.bin.

3) Remove the boot system line which is referring to the asa version 7.1.2.

4) Save the config: wr mem

5) Reload the ASA - it would come back with version 8.2.2, and ASDM 6.2.5.

Hope that helps.
