Looking to find used Cisco Router for home lab / learning. I have and cable connection that is 30/3. I noticed that the 831 only have wan 10mb. Can this be upgraded? If not what would to recommend for low cost testing. I have several 2600's aswell as 2900xl's that I will be using for coursework.
Thanks for any advise

No.

As you mentioned you have some 2600 routers. That's a good start. Otherwise you need to fork out some cash for 850/870 routers.05-30-2010 11:39 PM
The 2600's are 4 x serial units with one 56k card. What would you expect to pay for used 850? Thanks

1. I have no idea what you plan to do but do you know that 850-series do not support multiple VLANs?
2. This will depend on what WAN port is. 851 is a 10/100 WAN port and the 857 is an ADSL 2+ port. The latter is very expensive ... above AU$300 .
