passed my ccie written, how many times can I sit the CCIE lab ?

Hi All

I passed my CCIE written in March 2009, I believe that Cisco allows you 18 months to sit the lab, which means I have to sit it at least once before 4th Aug-Sept 2010. I'm planning on sitting in it just before the cut of date however if I fail can I sit the lab again or do I have to redo the written, ( seeing its been 18 months since I originally passed the written)?

Seeing that the average pass rate for a CCIE is between 3-5 times I need to know if I can repeatedly retake the lab or do I have to resit my written again.

Hope that makes sense,

Cheers

Bill

I have this problem too.

Hi Bill,

You have 12 months after the first try

Here is the policy:

Written Exam: Expiration
Candidates must make an initial attempt of the CCIE lab exam within 18 months of passing the CCIE written exam. Candidates who do not pass must re-attempt the lab exam within 12 months of their last scored attempt in order for their written exam to remain valid. If a candidate does not pass the lab exam within three years of passing the written exam, he or she must retake the written exam before being allowed to attempt the lab exam again.
