Hi,
My company is migrating our telephony system from Mitel to CME and one of the features that we need to have in CME is FAC. Making some research I have found a workaround to use FAC with UC500. My question is:
can I use this same configuration with CME? I already have the audio files, but I don't have the script.
the link where I found the workaround is this : https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9795/#Can_UC500CME_be_configured_to_prompt_a_caller_for_a_PIN_before_placing_a_call
Does anybody know of a method to enforce FAC with CME?
Thanks

Hi,
If you would like to configure FAC in CME you should use the steps described in that link using a TCL script, and should work just find in you CME route.

Yes, use CME blocking and override functionality. Check this URL:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeblock.html
You are interested in the Call Blocking Override section.

Hi Bill,
Thanks you for your idea, but that is not what I need. The problem with this solution is that the codes are assigned per phone and not per user. If a user with International calls privilege wants to make a call from any phone he or she will have to know that phone's PIN. I need something like the FAC that is used in CUCM.

Walter,
I know that I need a script to implement FAC, and that is the problem I don't know much about TCL scripts. Isn't there a way that this could be done using only CLI Commands?
I don't understand why CME v8.0 does not have this feature by default, if UC500 has it and CUCM 4.x , 6.x, 7.x and 8.x all have it.

Hello,
The specific reason of why this has not been incorporate in the current version of CME, what I can suggest you is to contact you account manager and request him to open a PER request so it can be available in further releases, but for now the only option is the TCL.

Well, if the TCL is my only option, and like I said, I don't know much about TCL, can anybody help me with the script?
Thank You in Advanceā06-02-2010 08:19 AM
I think I found the script. It seems that the script is compiled into the image. It authenticates using (ani, dnis) for (account, password). If that fails, it collects account and pin number, then authenticates using (account, pin). The script's name is Clid_authen_collect.tcl.
The last thing to know now, is where can I configure each user's PIN number.
The link to see the script is: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/as5350/software/feature/guide/pull_ivr.html#wp1021162
Any help will be much appreciated.

ok, I have reviewed the first link I posted and found out that there was the procedure to create the usernames and password for every user. So I guess that the only thing left now is to try it out and see if it works!!!!
I'll let you know when I have the chance.

I am glad to hear that, please let us know the results.

Hi Joseph, could you explain how did you get it to work? I've been trying it out on a UC540 (which I understand has that same clid_authen_collect script built in already) and I do the configuration just as the link provided above https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9795 but it just doesn't prompt me for a PIN when placing a call.
