Dear All

I followed the instruction from the Document "Cisco Branch Router Series (NME-NAM) Installation and Configuration Note, 4.2" and the URL is "

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/network_analysis_module_software/4.2/branch_router/configuration/guide/BRincfg_42.html"

to upgrade the NAM application software. I got the error message (in RED):

Download NAM application image via tftp and write to HDD

     server IP address [10.20.254.35]:

full pathname of application image []: nam-app-x86_32.4-2-1.bin.gz

Getting nam-app-x86_32.4-2-1.bin.gz from 10.20.254.35 via tftp.

     tftp> tftp> tftp>

zcat: stdout: No space left on device

     upgrade.bin size: 73474048

     File transfer successful.

     Checking upgrade.bin

     bad magic number.

     bad magic number.

File upgrade.bin is not a valid NM-NAM application image!

The error message seems to me I do NOT have enough space to download the NAM application image, but I could be wrong. However I shall have enough space on the HDD to save the image file.

Indeed it's saying that you don't have enough space left, and the image downloaded is then incomplete. Have you checked how much space left you have? As I see the image, you need at least 80MB.

Maybe you can delete some old files.

If this advice helps, please rate it!

Thank you!

Dear Calin

I have about 63GB free disk space. I assumed the application image would be downloaded to the hard disk, But it seemed not the case.

Thanks

I was running into the same issue, I believe this has something to do with the way tftp works on this device.  When I copied the application binary to an FTP server and downloaded onto the device the process completed successfully:

Download NAM application image via ftp and reformat & write to HDD
